■ Cub Scouts?
Cub of Cub Scouts means child animal of the bear, lion, fox, and etc.
In the Boy Scouts in Japan, it divides into Squirrel, Rabbit, deer,
and Bear by each school year, and its program is subject to the
divided class. The classes are made by the story of a strong and
heroic child named Kintaro, while Jungle Book written by Joseph
Rudyard Kipling in 1984 is based in the United States.
- Meeting
Cub Scout meeting is held almost every Sunday for two hours from
10:30AM to 12:30 as Cub Scouts for three years from the 3rd to 5th
grader in the elementary school under guidance of commander, sub
leader, sub leader assistant, and Den Leaders. The programs such as
outdoor/indoor games, hiking, outdoor cooking, and craft, etc. are
provided in the meeting.
- Class System
A small group named "Den" is formed by about six members in our troop.
The elder becomes the leader and the vice-chief of Den, brings the
group together, and plays the role that younger is looked after. The
relation of this small group is important at times of the game and the
activity in the outdoors. When becoming the leader and a vice-chief,
the scout acquires big power.
- Promotion System
The scout acquires the step subject done without fail and the chapter
of the challenge that can be freely chosen. My proceeding and
researching a field that seems to be interesting ask for the support
at home in addition to the guidance of the leader by the aim.
